These Bang Bang Chicken Bites are crispy, juicy, and coated in a creamy sweet-spicy sauce. Perfect as an appetizer, party snack, or easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornstarch
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Oil for frying
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon rice vinegar
Sliced green onions
Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine chicken and buttermilk. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
2. Mix cornstarch, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until 350°F (175°C).
4. Dredge chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
5. Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.
6. Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar.
7. Toss warm chicken bites in the sauce until evenly coated.
8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Air fryer option: Cook at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
Use Greek yogurt instead of mayo for a lighter sauce.
Adjust sriracha to match your spice preference.
Keep sauce separate until serving to maintain crispiness.
