Description
Banana Crème Pie features a flaky crust, smooth custard, fresh bananas, and whipped cream topping, perfect for dessert or special occasions.
Ingredients
1 9-inch pie crust, baked and cooled
¾ cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups whole milk
3 large egg yolks lightly beaten
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3–4 ripe bananas sliced
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Bake pie crust and cool
2. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt
3. Gradually add milk and cook until thick
4. Temper egg yolks
5. Return to heat and cook 1–2 minutes
6. Stir in butter and vanilla
7. Cool custard slightly
8. Layer bananas in pie crust
9. Pour custard over bananas
10. Chill 2 hours
11. Whip cream with sugar and vanilla
12. Spread over chilled pie
