Soft and moist banana bread brownies topped with a rich brown butter frosting, perfect for using ripe bananas and creating a tender, dessert-style treat.
Ingredients
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
3. Add mashed bananas and mix smooth.
4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt; stir until combined.
5. Bake 22–28 minutes.
6. Brown butter in a saucepan; whisk in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
7. Spread frosting over warm brownies.
8. Cool, slice, and serve.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas.
Add nuts or chocolate chips for texture.
Frost warm for shiny glaze.
Double recipe for 9×13 pan.
