Description

Juicy baked meatballs simmered in rich marinara sauce for a comforting and easy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef

1 large egg

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely minced onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cups marinara sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil (for sauce)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh basil, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.

3. Form the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.

4. Place meatballs on baking sheet and brush with olive oil.

5. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and cooked through.

6. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté garlic for 1 minute.

7. Add marinara sauce, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a simmer.

8. Add baked meatballs to sauce and simmer 5–10 minutes.

9. Serve hot over pasta, rice, or with bread.

Notes

Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized meatballs.

Don’t overmix the meat to keep them tender.

Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.

Insert mozzarella cubes for cheesy meatballs.

Simmer sauce longer for richer flavor.
