Description

A cozy and aromatic fall drink made with fresh apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and cloves — the perfect warm beverage for chilly days or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

8 cups apple cider (or apple juice)

1 orange, sliced

3 cinnamon sticks

6 whole cloves

1 teaspoon allspice

2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional, to taste)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Additional cinnamon sticks or orange slices for garnish

Instructions

1. Combine apple cider, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice in a large pot.

2. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

3. Reduce the heat and let simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Add brown sugar and vanilla extract, if using, and stir until dissolved.

5. Strain out the orange slices and spices, then pour hot cider into mugs.

6. Garnish with cinnamon sticks or orange slices and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh apple cider for a deeper flavor.

Add apple slices or star anise for visual appeal.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.

Reheat gently without boiling to maintain the flavor.
