Ingredients

Scale

All-purpose flour 2 cups

Baking powder 1 tablespoon

Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon

Granulated sugar 2 tablespoons

Salt 1/2 teaspoon

Cold unsalted butter 1/2 cup cubed

Apple grated 1 cup

Cold buttermilk 3/4 cup

Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon

Honey Butter

Softened unsalted butter 1/2 cup

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.

3. Cut cold butter into the dry mixture until coarse crumbs form.

4. Stir in grated apple and vanilla.

5. Mix in cold buttermilk until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

6. Pat dough to 1-inch thickness. Cut biscuits.

8. Whip butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt until fluffy. Serve biscuits warm.

Notes

Use cold butter for the best flaky biscuits.
