Soft, warm, flaky apple biscuits served with smooth whipped honey butter.
Ingredients
All-purpose flour 2 cups
Baking powder 1 tablespoon
Baking soda 1/2 teaspoon
Granulated sugar 2 tablespoons
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Cold unsalted butter 1/2 cup cubed
Apple grated 1 cup
Cold buttermilk 3/4 cup
Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Honey Butter
Softened unsalted butter 1/2 cup
Honey 3 tablespoons
Cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
3. Cut cold butter into the dry mixture until coarse crumbs form.
4. Stir in grated apple and vanilla.
5. Mix in cold buttermilk until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
6. Pat dough to 1-inch thickness. Cut biscuits.
7. Bake 12 to 14 minutes until golden.
8. Whip butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt until fluffy. Serve biscuits warm.
Notes
Use cold butter for the best flaky biscuits.
Grate the apple finely for even texture.
