Description

Moist and buttery Sweet Alabama Pecan Bread with toasted pecans and warm spices.


Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Optional: 1/4 cup brown sugar for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare loaf pan.

2. Whisk dry ingredients in a bowl.

3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

4. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.

6. Fold in toasted pecans.

7. Pour into pan and top with optional brown sugar.

8. Bake 50–60 minutes, cool, and slice.

Notes

Toast pecans for extra flavor.

Add chocolate chips if desired.

Freeze slices for later use.

Drizzle with glaze for dessert.
